Dave Brown has been the 'on-call' tech at Rotund Rascal Recording since it opened in 1993.  The old Quad Eight console (that is still in use) was delivered and Dave went through it meticulously and gave it new life by going through each module and cleaning each switch and fader. He has kept the studio alive for the last 12 years and always comes through in emergencies with cool, calm and knowledgeable attitude. Dave has also taught me so much about electronics and trouble shooting that I have been able to start my own microphone manufacturing company. This guy can fix anything!

My first experience utilizing David Brown was during an inspection of a large format Neve 5106 console. Primal Gear is responsible for selling, purchasing, and refurbishing anywhere from 10 to 15 large format consoles per month, so needless to say our need for great technicians is crucial. On the particular day that I met David we were scrambling for more technicians in the Los Angeles area. We decided to have David go out and inspect the Neve as a first job, to test the waters. Since then David has proven himself time and time again. He is not only one of the most knowledgeable technicians Primal Gear utilizes, but by far the most ambitious. He is always easy to work with and always goes the extra mile to make his clients happy.

A true professional and a real pleasure to have around

My first experience with Dave was when he packed and shipped my Neve V5106 console from California to New Mexico. When the console was delivered here I could tell by the way all the modules were carefully wrapped and packed that he was a very careful person. Then it came to pass that we experienced a devastating series of power surges. David and his assistant Brian came to the rescue. They completely recapped the console. David was tenacious about tracking down all problems and wasn't satisfied until he was sussessful. He also repaired several other pieces of gear that were damaged by the power company. He can probably fix anything. If he can't fix it you might as well throw it away.

This guy is a true professional - very organized and a real pleasure to have around. The console Steve Mabee [of Primal Gear] is referring to is my console! Dave - we miss you man!
